Preparation

Regulatory compliance

We will assume an initial risk assessment which will reflect all parties: Client, prospective contractors and regulatory authorities in order to minimise danger; and this will be prior to a full survey which complies with all HSE regulations, including the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and HSG264.

Undoubtedly, an imprecise examination places the Client, workers and the general public at risk. Therefore we strongly advise a full survey which consists of three steps: locate and identify suspect materials; assess the risk of asbestos found; effectively advise the Client of the way forward.

In assurance, our surveying standards encompass over 32 years of experience supported by the British Institute of Occupational Hygienists Certificate in Buildings Survey and Bulk Sampling for asbestos and include:

  • Independent and impartial advice
  • A detailed, electronic photographic record
  • A bespoke and systematic report
  • Accessible to all and always available on site

Project specification

The results of the survey will consider all aspects of the project for the initial quotation stage and in line with the Client’s requirements reflect the nature and urgency of the asbestos removal.

The Specification will also demonstrate an in depth and detailed record of the statutory, legal, health and safety aspects, encompass all requirements and additionally stipulate:

  • Scope of work
  • Difficulties and problems
  • Access
  • Monitoring
  • Site operational constraints
  • Disposal
  • Enclosure details
